Theory From the Closet

A punk perspective on tabletop RPG’s, their theory, and design.

So I’ve been thinking that after GNS/The Big Model I’ll be looking at trying to go through and set up a series for Mo Turkington’s Push/Pull theory. We’ve still got like 20 more episodes of The Big Model so it won’t be soon, but it will be happening.

I bought some new equipment. It is a home studio unit, so I should be able to get Windows off the old box I was using for recording, and Linux installed on it so I can actually trust it to touch the internet… that or make a MythTV box.

Anyway… you don’t care about any of that. What’s important is this should kill all the strange word warbling. From my goofing around with the unit so far it sounds much better. I also bought a pop guard so that should help with the plosives, which will let me boost the sound levels, since I won’t have to turn my recording so low to avoid clipping. If you don’t understand, simply put… better sound coming soon.

There is a part of show004 where I talk about Ron Edwards copyright regarding kickers. I did not adequately express that the part about asking permission to use the terms was likely about someone wanting to use the terms and ideas verbatim in their game.

I also didn’t explain Kickers and Bangs as much as I’d like. There will be more about bangs in Show005: Flags and Bangs likely hitting the net Monday or Tuesday.
